As we celebrate the groundbreaking and demolition phase, join us for our Open House Launch Party. This event will be held at the Cumberland Masonic Lodge located at 15 S. Greene Street from 12pm – 4pm Sunday January 28th, 2024.
We’ll be serving small bites and drinks for our guests, volunteers, supporters, and friends to celebrate all of the incredible progress made thus far on the Cumberland Community Cafe.

We invite our friends, neighbors, and community members to join us to meet the Board and learn more about this cooperative project. The Cafe will be an open space where we hope organizations and individuals can connect over shared interest in our local food system.

Volunteering:
Now that we are breaking ground, it’s time to connect our Volunteer network in person! Volunteers are the most important part of the Community Cafe, and we are excited to learn how to best connect you with roles based on your skillsets and preferences.
All Kitchen Volunteers will need to be ServSafe Certified, and we’ll be offering more information on this process on site. Learn more about Maryland ServSafe here:
Donations:
After nearly two years of development we are anticipating a Launch Date in June of 2024 and we are halfway to our goal of Setting the Table Campaign. Please consider donating to our campaign or becoming a Sustaining Donor today!
We will also be organizing a wish list of material donations that we invite our community members to sponsor. From kitchen items to cafe decor, there will be many ways to support your local Community Cafe!
